Psalms 27:13-14 (NKJV) 13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

I trust as you are waiting on the Lord today you find courage and strength. This is the Lord’s desire for you. Wait on Him.

Wait means to bind together (perhaps by twisting), i.e. collect; (figurtaive) to expect :- gather (together), look, patiently, tarry, wait (for, on, upon). (Strong’s Greek & Hebrew Dictionary)

Courage is to fasten upon; hence to seize, be strong (figurative courageous, causative strengthen, cure, help, repair, fortify), to bind, restrain, conquer (Strong’s Greek & Hebrew Dictionary) Binding together is part of this meaning also….Wow! Only by getting with Jesus are we able to be conquerors. It takes courage to be conqueror over life’s challenges.

Strengthen is to be alert, physically (on foot) or mentally (in courage) :- confirm, be courageous (of good courage, stedfastly minded, strong, stronger), establish, fortify, increase, prevail, strengthen (self), make strong. (Strong’s Greek & Hebrew Dictionary) All of these tie so well together. It is for our benifit…our heart.

Heart, the heart; also used (figurative) very widely for the feelings, the will and even the intellect; likewise for the centre of anything (Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary) Did you get that last phrase, “the center of everything.” The Lord wants and desires to settle us to the very core of our being.

When we wait patiently WITH the Lord, we bind together with Him. Our thoughts become like His and not our own fleshly thoughts, but His. Our desires and wants begin to change also. Our life will change to honor and glorify the Lord in what we do and say. Waiting is a transformation from our will to the will of God in us.

Waiting is a command in this verse. The Lord commands us to wait on Him. Why? So HE can give us courage and to strengthen us to enable us to do His will. Remember waiting is binding together with Jesus, we do NOT stand alone in our situations and circumstances of life. Jesus is always there. Wait with Him.

Waiting causes us to trust in the Lord, to hope in Him. If we don’t trust Him we will not be courageous, or strengthened in the inner man (2 Cor. 4:16), nor will we be conquerors in Christ (Rom. 8:37). Without hope we won’t have vision (Prov. 29:18). We will be defeated (1 Peter 5:8-10). Let us not be defeated Christians, but victorious Christians (1 Cor. 15:57-58).

Waiting = VICTORY!

Lord bless you until next time.
